Kotchen & Low LLP earned a major victory in California federal court Oct. 4 on behalf of a class of non-South Asian and non-Indian employees who were terminated by Cognizant Technologies, setting the stage for a second phase that will determine damages against the information technology giant.
The jury found that Cognizant Technologies engaged in a “pattern or practice” of intentional discrimination against the class of about 2,000 U.S. workers alleging that Cognizant intentionally moved them to the company’s “bench” and fired them while favoring South Asians and Indian nationals, particularly those with visas.
